Train ride

We had the incredible opportunity to take a train ride. A friend volunteers to drive a train to pick up some City of Hope kids and their families, through Make a Wish Foundation, and take them on a ride. Jadelyn had been excited about it since we were invited and told everyone she knew that she was going on a train ride.  Kody understood when we got on the ride how much fun it was going to be.  He sat looking out the window the whole time.  They had a theme for each one of the cars and had them all decorated.

They had someone come by and do balloons for all the kids.  Jadelyn got a blue butterfuly
They had a crown, need I say any more, and by the Kody and Kyle's look it says it all
They gave the kids a stuffed bear.  It has been Jadelyn's favorite toys since the ride

Christmas things

I have not had a good running computer for awhile now.  It is fixed!  I can't tell you how good it feels to be able to write a little about the things we have done.
Jadelyn has been asking since the middle of November when do we get to put up our Christmas decoration.  So the day after Thanksgiving we put them up.  She was so happy!  The weather was warm and nice, the short and t-shirts give it away!

The outside decorations
The Saturday after Thanksgiving my mom invited us up to Lake Gregory's boat parade and tree lighting ceremony.   Kyle loved it for so many different reasons.  He loves doing small town things that are VERY redneck!
Watching the boat parade
Jadelyn loved the old firetruck
The first weekend in December we did our annual Christmas tree decorating.  Kyle's mom and us go looking for trees with the grand-kids and decorated them both.
Our Christmas tree
Not so long ago we were invited to see the Mission Inn lights in Riverside. It was the first time ever for me.  It was very beautiful.  I didn't get a picture but there was a little train there that we let the kids ride around in. Of course Jadelyn and Kody thought a train ride was the best!  And they got to go without an adult.  That made Jadelyn feel so grown up.
The lights!
Kody loves Christmas lights and says Ooooo, this night he had this look all night long

The kids and I went again with my mom to the lights.  Of course the wanted to ride the train again, but to their disappointment it was not running that night.

Pumpkin Patch

When we decided to go to a pumpkin patch this year it was the week before Halloween.  Not a good time to go since everyone who decided to go last minute were there too.  The one we were planning on going to was so crowded that we saw a sign for a little one.  We were so thankful to find this one.  We had a free tractor ride and there wasn't many people around. Kody was excited about a a 5 day old lamb that was there along with all the dogs they had.

Camping at the Beach

For the past two years we have gone to the beach with Kyle's parents who camp there. Again this year we camped.  Jadelyn loves hanging out with her cousins and going to the beach.  Kody is an outdoors kid and loved it.  Nothing was going to slow him down from having fun.  He did his best to keep up with the older kids.
Both of Kyle's sisters and their kids came down.  It was so much fun.  We look forward to next year.

Since I have known Kyle I have never seen him surf or snowboard.  It was awesome to see the things he loved to do.  He said he gave them up for his new life.  What a man.
