Christmas time

This year we had numberous Christmas celebrations and seeing so many people. It was a whirlwind for three days, but Jadelyn loves seeing her cousins. Which she loves talking about for days.
Christmas Eve traditionally is spent with Kyle's extended family. It is a blessing for Jadelyn to still have her great grandparents alive and to see everyone else.

Christmas we spent with Kyle's family. Kyle having fun with the girls Christmas morning. Entertaining them before opening presents.
Jadelyn loves the trash trucks that come by her house so she got one of her own!

Next we went to my parents to hanging out and spend time with family!
They were all so excited to see each other and open more presents!

Grandma Gail got similar pj's for all the girls. It was so cute. They look like they could be sister!
Jadelyn loves her newest cousin Malcolm. She also talks about him all the time. She loved to be near him. She loved holding his hand and rubbing his head. It was so cute. She was also very concerned when he cried. What a sweet heart.

All the Russell side of the cousins up to this point!

Patio Cover

I was thinking about how much work Kyle has put into our house over the last 2 1/2 years. I have been wanting to blog and brag about our patio cover. There always seems to be something new that Kyle is doing and I wanted to wait until it was finished. But I wanted to get his accomplishments in a blog this year. Here is the amazing work that he has done with the help of our Dad's. Kyle's dad was faithful to come over for weeks to help Kyle. We are so thankful! I so enjoyed the cover this summer and even in the fall, when we can go outside in the shade.
Kyle and his dad started the cover in June. There was sanding, priming, painting, and more painting, cutting, and heavy lifting. I did not do much because I found out I was pregnant during the process. But it was incredible to see it come together.

What an amazing job! I love that patio and all the yard work Kyle has put into the house! It is wonderful!

Gingerbread Competition

Last weekend our church had their annual Gingerbread/creation competition. It is a fun time hanging out with everyone and seeing the creative juices flow. This year we decided to make a waterfall out of crackers and an assortment of candy. It was fun to see Jadelyn getting involved and helping out as much as a 2 year old can. What a fun time!
Before we got started Jadelyn already had candy in her checks.

Christmas Tree Shopping

The first week in December we had the joy of having two of Jadelyn's cousins come out to go Christmas tree shopping. They joined the tradition of going with Kyle's mom and us. First we tried a Christmas tree farm. The best part was the horses they had at the place. Jadelyn just loves horse and had little reservations about being around them.
After doing a little bit of looking around we decided to leave and try our usual spot.
The girls had an enjoyable time just looking at the trees.
Off to Lowe's we go
Enjoying a sweet moment with my little girl

Time to decorate the tree and Kyle!

We decorated both Michele's tree and our tree. It was a long day for the girls and they started to lose interest.

They loved the deer that Kyle put in the front yard. It was a fun and enjoyable day

Hikes

Whenever we can we like to get out and take a hike. This hikes are at extremes. One right after it snowed and the other when it was 70 degrees.
The hike in the snow we were planning on looking at fall colored trees. We didn't realize what elevation the hike was at and we never made it because of the snow. Instead we took a little walk in the snow. We had an enjoyable time, a little snowball fight and loved just being outside.
Jadelyn not so sure about the snow

Having fun together

The hike in the heat was just last weekend. It was a beautiful day. It was an adventure trying to find a place to hike with a dog. We ran out of time to finish the hike and hope to return and finish it some day.
Love the fall color.
