May Vacation

Kyle's aunt got married last month in the San Luis Obispo area. We decided to make a little vacation out of it. It was a great time to hang out near the beach and do fun things.  We stayed with Jim and Michele for a few days and then got a hotel.  The kids loved the hotel.

Kody fell off a kids picnic bench at the wedding and his cheek hit a cement curbing.  Poor guy.  He was a champ out it.   After the wedding we headed to the beach.

 One day we headed to Moro Rock and Montana De Oro.

 We had visited family who stayed at Legoland Hotel and Jadelyn that it was the coolest thing in the world.  She had been asking about hotels in the past, but this was her first time we stayed at one.  I was a little concerned that she may not find it so fun because it was not like Legoland.  Thankful she thought it was great!!  She loved having a room that was just for us.  There was a water feature, bridge and pool!  Those definitely helped!

Took a walk across a wooden bridge to get to a shopping center.  Jadelyn used her coins so her and Kody could ride!  They had so much fun!

Jadelyn spent every minute she could at the pool!  She is getting so good in the water!

One day we went to see Kyle's uncle and stopped downtown San Luis Obispo. We saw the mission and a little walk.

There are train tracks by Mark's house, which the kids loved , but sad there were no more trains.  They also loved the turtles he has.  Jadelyn and Kody ate corn on the cob to feed to the turtles. 

Another day we went to see the Elephant Seals.  It was so cool!

It was a great trip. The kids had so much fun. It is always great to get the kids out and see things through their eyes.

Pool

The beginning of May was hot. The Kilgore's have a cover to warm up the pool. So this is the earliest that we have gone swimming. Jadelyn loves it and Kody is still waiting for it to get warmer.

 

 

Fire planes

There is a US Forestry Station at a local airport where fire planes and helicopters come for refueling and fire retardant to drop. The kids love seeing the mostly planes fly in fill up and fly off. Sometimes they give the kids something, another time they take people on a tour. In fire season every time there is smoke or a plane or helicopter the ask if it a fire one. It is so cool to watch as long as the fire is not a big threat.

Back in April there was a train day at our local train station. We have gone in the past. The kids love to go in the engines.

Legoland

The last day of our camping vacation we meet up with Joe, Kim and the kids at Legoland. It was such a great day hanging out with them!

Jadelyn and Lizzie loved driving their own cars.

These next few pictures are for the Star War fans.  They are all made of legos!

 

 

This was the second roller coaster ride Jadelyn went on.  The first was with Kyle.  This one she was a little bit more reserved about this one.  She waited to ride this one with her cousin Lizzie who is the roller coaster queen!

 We went back later in the day to do the water section! The kids loved it.
