May Vacation

Wow I can't believe that it has been over three weeks since we went on our vacation! The week before we left Kyle decided that he could take the week off and we could have a family vacation. What a sweet guy. That week meant pack and planning to go camping at the beach. We went down to San Elijo near San Diego. We planned to go to the zoo, Sea World, tide pools and whatever else we choose to do. Besides having a fun time and great weather, Jadelyn started not feeling good the first night. But what a trooper she let us drag her around to see some of the sites. By Wednesday Kyle was not feeling good and on Thursday we had to pack and head home. We had to cut our vacation short but it was a great time. Here is a picture tour of what we did. And I must warn you that there a quite a few pictures=)

We enjoyed a little walk at the park and enjoyed San Diego bay

Petco Park...it is a wonderful stadium. It has a playground and an area that is open to the public when games are not being played.

Sea World... Jadelyn is doing the Shamu signs they taught us

May air shows

So this month we had the opportunity to go to two different air shows. The first was at March Air Force at the beginning of the month. We had a wonderful time with Grandparents. Jadelyn was excited about the planes, accept the loud fighter jets. She would cover her ears and tremble whenever they would fly by. Jadelyn loved all the other ones and would just watch them. There were some planes which we could walk through. At first, she would not even go through the huge one without showing fear. But, with Papa Alan around she would. She would cling to him so tightly, but by the end she enjoyed the planes and would walk through them by herself.

We buckled Jadelyn in and as you can see she thought it was the greatest thing.
Love the cute smiley face.
My mom's father and uncle flew planes in WWII. The two that they flew were on display. It was nice to learn more about what they had done since they both died young.
This time around Jadelyn went all out in the planes. It was like she was a pro already. She would just want to be taken back again and again, of course Papa Alan was her choice of companion. And some of the places were tight!

After seeing these planes and hearing about them gave me more respect for our military. My list of what the men had to do on these planes would be lengthy. They were truly heroic. At the March air show all the military stopped and saluted during the National Anthem. With all the negative things we hear people portray about our country, it is nice to know that there are people who love our country and who will lay down there lives for our freedom. Thank you to our military and their families for your sacrifice, for the freedom we enjoy.

Happy Mother's Day

BEFORE I WAS A MOM

Before I was a Mom;
I made and ate hot meals,
I had unstained clothing,
I brushed my hair every day,
I had quiet conversations on the phone,
I slept as late as I wanted and I slept all night long.

Before I was a Mom;
I cleaned my house each day,
I never tripped over toys or forgot lullabies,
I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous,
I had never been puked on, pooped on, spit on, chewed on, peed on, or
pinched by tiny fingers.

Before I was a Mom;
I never thought about immunizations,
I never held a screaming child so the doctors could give shots,
I never looked into teary eyes and cried,
I never felt my heart break into pieces when I couldn't stop the hurt,
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.

Before I was a Mom;
I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put it down,
I never sat up late hours of the night watching a baby sleep,
I never got up in the middle of the night to make sure everything was okay,
I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby.

Before I was a Mom;
I had complete control of my mind, my thoughts and my body,
I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside of my body,
I didn't know that having something so small could make me feel so
important,
I had never known the warmth, the joy, the love, the heartache,
the wonderment, or the satisfaction of being a mom.

Before I was a Mom;
I never knew that something so small could effect my life so much,
I never knew that I could love someone so much,
I never knew I would love being a Mom,
I didn't know the bond between a Mother and her child,
I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much.

B-I-B-L-E

The other day Jadelyn found a little bible we had picked up for her at a used book store. Soon after that she kept asking for something very adamantly over and over. We could not figure it out until she pointed to my bible. We found her bible and she was very content. She would bring it and ask us to read it or she would read it to her babies.
Here she is praying with her babies before reading to them.
We asked her if she wanted a big girl bible that had stories of Jesus too. She was so excited. How would you want to reject something so sweet. Off we went as soon as we could to a book store. We found a bible, which she then took to the front to pay for. As she was heading up there she was so excited to tell everyone about her new bible. She also wanted to pay for the bible. My heart melts at her love and excitement for God's word.
Standing outside of the store with her bible
On the ride whole home she was quietly looking through her new bible.

This week she even took her bible to church, just like Mommy and Daddy! So precious. We have been reading her stories and have gotten though many stories. She loves it!! It is never to young to start them off!
There are many times I hear Jadelyn asking for "this" and I see her hands folded wanting to pray! We pray anywhere and everywhere! She sometimes tells us what she wants to pray about. Bless her heart! Anytime she knows we are going to church or bible study she folds her hands asking "this." What a little blessing we have.
