Catching up

Wow things have been a little crazy around here. One weekend Kyle and I went on a couples retreat and had a great time. We came home to a sick little girl who then passed it on to us. So we missed two cousins birthday parties the next weekend. It was a nasty little bug.
The two of us at the couples retreat

So of my good friends having a good time

So here are a few things that have happening:
We bought Jadelyn an inexpensive costume for Halloween. She loves wearing it around. She makes a cute little giraffe.

In the mean time I have taking a photography class with a friend and learning so much more this time about my camera. Here a some pics I took for my class

We had three Russell cousins come and visit for an evening. We had so much fun. Jadelyn was loving having her cousins around that she did not want to go to bed.

Some cute pics of Jadelyn having fun in the backyard.

What I am learning

Jadelyn went to see her Pediatrics Neurologist yesterday. So here is the news: due to the definition of epilepsy, having two or more seizures, Jadelyn has epilepsy. The seizures Jadelyn has been having themselves are not harmful but due to her falling or getting hurt while having a seizure is a problem. Therefore she is going to kept on anti-seizure medication. Hopefully a year after her last seizure (so hopefully a year from now) the doc will be able to evaluate her to determine if she is ready to be taken off the medication. If not then most children who have childhood seizures grow out of the by puberty.
As a mom my heart is still heavy with worry of if there is going to be another. How can I protect her and keep her from getting hurt? Here is what I have to do...realize that she is a gift from God and I have been given her for the time she is here. To love her and teach her about God.
Second Trust. Trust in the Lord with ALL your heart and lean not on your own understanding. Pro 3:5. I need and have to trust God that His ways are better then my ways. I don't understand why this is happening to Jadelyn. But that is not the point... He wants me to trust Him in ALL things.
Third is not to worry. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. Matt 6:34. Worrying will not change anything. He will provide what is needed.
Forth during this trial I must rejoice and know that He is molding me into His character. Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. James 1:2-4 I need to realize that she is doing well and that she has not gotten hurt in any of her seizures. She is a normal developing kid, which some parent would love to have. Rejoice in the positive things.
Fifth I need to ask for wisdom in dealing with the situation. If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. James 1:5. I need wisdom to know how to handle situations with her. Wisdom in letting go. Wisdom in raising a child.
I hope this will sever has reminder to me of how Great, Powerful and Good my God is.

Summer time fun

I was in the middle of blogging this the morning of her seizure. We are all doing well today. No more seizures. Jadelyn was able to see all her church friends last night at a birthday party, which helped her relax and have fun. Today she napped for 4 hours and we went to a family birthday party, trying to live life as "normal" as possible. Life is harder for us as parents wanting to watching her more closely. But also a learning time to trust that she is in His hands. He has a plan for her and for us as a family. He is My Rock and my strength.
So here is some pre-seizure fun.
Life has been busy trying to keep up with Jadelyn. On the weekends she lives it up and Monday she catches up on her sleep. I then try to clean up after the weekend. The rest of the week she then takes short naps. So by the time I try to start anything she is awake. There seems to be little time for blogging.
We have been staying cool by going to Grandma and Grandpa Kilgore's house to swim. When we are not there it is either playing outside with the chalk or reading a book. I have read the same book over at least 20 times in one day. She brings it back the next day for the same thing.
My sweet little girl
Hamming it up. I just love this pic!!
This is one of her favorite books... she is so intently looking at the book

Another favorite...
She even wants to read books when she is eating... she was sad until she saw a book... now she is glowing with happiness
A friend who works at Ralphs gave us this balloon since it was unsellable. She was so scared of it at the store she would shake if it came near her. She will at least go near it now. But still a little unsure. Very silly

Round two with Seizures

This blog maybe a little jumbled. I have not had a lot of time to put into this but wanted to share with you and ask for your prayers again.
This morning Jadelyn gave me another scare... with another seizure. I was by myself and call 911 again after her second seizure within minutes of the previous one. We went to the ER in ambulance. The ER doc talked to her peds Neurologist and decided to put her on anti-seizure medication. We also have an appointment with the peds Neurologist Wednesday. As of right now no more test were done due to her already having them. Please pray for wisdom of the doctor, clarity of mind and for Jadelyn as she and her body recover from this episode.
